School Admissions
The current policy of Dorset Education Authority allows children to commence school in September of the school year in which a child has his/her 5th birthday. Children may attend full time or part time from the start of the autumn term, attending full-time from the start of the Spring Term.
The school has a well established policy for the integration of children into the school. Close links are maintained between our School, Pre-School and Nursery Schools.
Education Reform Act
The planned admission limit for Greenford School is 25 for each year group.
Should the number of requests for places exceed this number, pupils who live in the school catchment area will be given priority over those who live outside.
The planned admission limit is an assessment of the school’s physical capacity to accommodate pupils.
Parents of children who are refused admission to the school have the right to lodge a formal appeal to an Appeals Committee.
Parents of children due to start in our Reception Class should complete an on-line admission form and return it to the Local Authority by mid January, prior to their child starting school in the September.
Application for admission to years 1 – 6 should be made through the local authority. This should be done on line on the Dorset Council website.
There are no hard copy application forms available from the school. Prospective parents are however, very welcome to access Dorset Council from a school computer.
